I realised that I’d become a bit daunted by the whole project and was trying to follow lots of advice, tips, guides, other artists styles etc. and do this the way I thought it should be done to be perfect, instead of doing this the way I thought best to make this project truly mine.
It took a good friend to remind me that this is my project and, in reality, I only have myself to please with how I do it and how it turns out. When I heard that, I realised that I need to do this in a way that is true to myself or what is the point. It was extremely liberating and freed me up from a point of having gotten stuck fussing trying to do things in a way counter-intuitive to me.
Now I’m making some real progress!
